Nilgiri Kalai Vizha – Nilgiri Arts Fest: Inspiring Young Talents Across The Nilgiris

Nilgiri College of Arts and Science (Autonomous) hosted the grand inter-school festival “Nilgiri Kalai Vizha – Nilgiri Arts Fest” on 27th November 2025, Thursday, welcoming high school and higher secondary students from across The Nilgiris. The event blended culture, competition, science, and career awareness, making the campus a center of youthful energy and learning. The fest was designed in major segments such as Arts, Spot Games, Science Exhibition, Expo, and Career Assessment. The Arts segment included elocution, group song, solo song, poem writing, pencil drawing, essay writing, Thirukural recitation, mime, classical dance, group dance, and folk dance. The Spot Games segment encouraged team spirit through on-the-spot fun and skill-based games. Students also explored the Science Exhibition showcasing innovative models, while the Expo Zone became a major attraction with AI & Robotics displays and AR & VR immersive experience booths, giving school students hands-on exposure to future technologies. The Career Assessment segment helped students gain insight into education and professional pathways. The event concluded with a proud award ceremony, graced by Dr. Rashid Gazzali (MD & Secretary of the College), Principal Dr. Bala Shanmukha Devi, Prof. Mohanbabu Sir (Vice Chairman, Governing Body), Dr. Ranjith (Vice Principal), Dr. Ranjith (Vice Principal), Dr. Anand (Controller of Examinations), Dr. Anand (Controller of Examinations), and Dr. Karthik (IQAC Coordinator), along with faculty members and school mentors. The winners were honored with trophies and certificates, celebrated with cheers and applause. The fest ended with the Vote of Thanks by Ms. Soumya, Convener of the event, expressing gratitude to guests, schools, teachers, students, and volunteers. The event reaffirmed the college’s mission of community outreach and student empowerment, leaving young minds inspired to explore their talents confidently.
