Skill Bank at Nilgiri College of Arts and Science is a vivid platform which opens avenues for students. The students shape their skills by utilising the opportunities given to them. Skill bank strives to mould the skills of students through organised ways.
Skill bank offers practical learning sessions. It fosters the inherent skills of individuals who seek to develop and excel in their careers. Several training sessions, workshops and public speaking sessions are organised to cater to the taste of every student. Through the continuous mentoring and coaching offered, the students scrutinize their talents and prosper in their professional medium.
The major objectives of the Skill Bank are as follows
- To help the students to explore their inborn and preferred skills
- To support and nourish various skills of the students by providing them with recurrent trainings and workshops
Scheme of Analysis and Certification
The Skill Bank functioning in Nilgiri College of Arts & Science, follows a specific scheme and a systematic procedure in order to explore and nurture various skills of the students. The process consist of Four different stages . Those phases are explained below.
Phase1
Exploration of the Skill:
It is the first phase of the process is initiated during the time of admission. When students are take admission they are direct to tod fill up a form pertaining today Skill Bank about their areas of interest. The form holds questions based upon various skills ranging from dancing, singing, crafting to sports.
Phase 2
Categorization:
Once the required data on various skill and interest of the students, have been collected, the same will be processed for categorization. In this process, the students will be grouped based on their preferences. A screening session will also be conducted with subject experts to validate the real thirst of the students. The subject experts will categorize the students into different streams based on their talents and they will be indexed based on their performance.
Phase 3
Nourishing the Skills:
After streamlining, Skill Bank will conduct customized events and workshops to nurture the skills of the students. As a result students will get opportunities to perform their skill in the college events. The supporting staff always help them to excel and find out their innate talents.
Phase 4
Certification:
The students will be honored with a certificate issued by the college after successful completion of procedures of the Skill Bank.
