The Red Cross Society is a worldwide, well known, universally accepted, admired and internationally identified humanitarian service organization. It is a voluntary humanitarian organization to protect human life and health. Young volunteers can make a significant contribution to meeting the needs of the most vulnerable people within their local communities through the Red Cross Youth programmes.
YRC is a voluntary service body of Nilgiri College of Arts and Science which supports Humanitarian services to the fellow human beings in health related services to the community through Voluntary Service. It also provides training to disaster management, develop leadership qualities and overall personality improvement of the students by organizing and participating in the activities of YRC.

The Youth Red Cross Society aims to inspire, encourage and initiate at all times, all forms of humanitarian activities so that human sufferings can be minimized alleviated and even prevented thus contributed to creating a more congenial climate for peace.
